Privacy statement

This statement explains what personal information MeDeSe collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

When you send an enquiry, request a quote or book a service, we collect what you type into the form:

• your name, business name, type of practice and region, and your address if you give it;
• your phone number and email address, and how you prefer to be contacted;
• your message, and for service requests the equipment details (model, serial number, last service date) and any photos or PDF you upload;
• whether you ticked “Send me occasional MeDeSe updates”.

Please don’t upload photos or documents that show patients or patient information.

To protect our forms from spam, we also keep a scrambled code made from your internet address. It changes every day and can’t be turned back into the address. We also keep the result of Cloudflare’s automated security check.

This website does not use cookies, and it has no advertising or visitor tracking.

We use your information to:

• answer your enquiry and prepare quotes;
• arrange installation, servicing and repairs;
• keep a record of the work we do for your practice.

If you ticked the updates box, we may also send you occasional product and servicing news. Every update tells you how to stop them, and you can also just reply or call us.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their marketing.

Your information is seen only by the MeDeSe team who handle your enquiry. The website runs on services that store and send information for us:

• Cloudflare: website hosting and the spam check;
• Neon: the enquiry database, stored in Sydney, Australia;
• Resend: sends the emails about your enquiry, based in the United States;
• Rackspace: our email inboxes.

These providers handle the information only for MeDeSe, not for their own purposes. Some of them are outside New Zealand. We use providers that protect information to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.

We keep information only as long as we need it:

• Customer records: while we look after your equipment, and for up to 7 years after our last dealings with you. New Zealand tax law requires business records to be kept for 7 years, and service history matters for warranty.
• Enquiries that don’t lead to any work, and spam: deleted within 2 years.

The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). The enquiry records can only be reached by MeDeSe. If a privacy breach happens that is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and the Privacy Commissioner, as the law requires.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Contact our Privacy Officer at info@medese.co.nz or on 0800 633 373. We’ll respond within 20 working days.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz.

If we change this statement, we’ll update this page and the date below.
